Meet Our Babies!

17 December 2008 6 Comments

I guess you have noticed i've been slack on writing posts here lately!  Too much going on in the evenings!  With Christmas coming and all that goes along with that, plus working on my other websites and working on other projects, the time has just flown by!  It's ridiculous sometimes how time goes by so quick!

Misty and i don't have any children together... YET!  Someday when we have time!  But until then, we have two babies that never grow up haha!  I've been meaning to do a post on our Boxer Bentley, but haven't had a chance.  Now we have another addition to the family, Roxxann our Miniature Schnauzer.  So i thought i would just do a post and introduce both of them!

Bentley, our boxer, is 1 year and 9 months old.  We got him when he was 8 weeks old and he is a mess!  Misty named him Bentley after Dierks Bentley.  I believe Misty is in love with Dierks Bentley hahaha.  Dierks Bentley was Misty's first concert and our first concert together!  Someone told me before we got him that Boxers were aggressive and mean..... yeah right... Bentley has had is ass kicked by just about every dog in the neighborhood!  He's a WUS!  He sure does have a lot of energy and at 70 pounds he's strong as a bull!  He's pretty smart and listens pretty good, he can be hard headed though!  As you can see by the picture, he likes to have his nose in everything!  This is one of my favorite pics of Bentley trying to see what Misty's doing on the laptop!

At the top of Misty's Christmas list this year was a Yorkie!  Well i looked and looked and never could find one that wouldn't cost me an arm a leg and a nut!  I was going to do everything i could to get her one though... i know she wanted to be surprised with a new puppy on Christmas morning, but i just didn't know if i could pull that one off or not!  We went shopping one Saturday and decided to look for some but never could find anything.  Then we decided to maybe look at another breed other than a Yorkie.  We made a couple of phone calls and ended up finding some Miniature Schnauzers.  I hadn't really done any reading up on them, and if you know me, you know i HAVE to research everything haha... My cousin did own a Miniature Schnauzer so we had been around one but not much.  Needless to say, all it took was sitting in the floor with 6 puppies running around and that was all she wrote!  Misty picked out her new baby.  The puppies mom's name was Roxi, so that's how we came up with Roxxann.  She is a FIREBALL and full of energy and cute as a button. This picture is when we went to cut our Christmas tree in the mountains the day after Thanksgiving.  Roxxann is 10 weeks old and weighs 4 pounds!

I think pets are more work than kids.....  they never grow up and always require you to take care of them!  It's a pretty big responsibility but it's worth it.  Pets always give unconditional love and they are such a joy.  (after the potty training) haha!

We have quite a few pictures of Bentley and Roxxann.  If/when i have time, i'm going to try and put some photo albums on this blog so i can show more pictures of them and other things.

If you have pets, feel free to share your stories!

Anyways...  hope everyone has had a great week so far!  I can't believe in one week it'll be Christmas!

OOOO AAAHHH, love your doggies Roxxann & Bentley!!! They are so adorable. I would like to have a small dog but I don’t think our monster cat Toby (he weighs around 19 pounds) would take to kindly to a dog in the house. Plus I don’t think I could go thru the stress of potty training. At least with a cat, all you have to do it sit out a litter box and they know what to do. Pets are the best kind of therapy ever!!

Oh come on Donna, give that fat cat a puppy to play with haha!
It is stressful at times, i will admit that! At least a child will grow up to take care of itself eventually.. pets never do haha!

Potty training IS going pretty good though.. we’re doing the puppy pads inside with her.. i despise having to go out in the rain and snow and mud and cold.. and i know she does too ha! It makes it much easier!

    yeah, they are great companions!
