Another Concert – Another Memory

9 June 2009 5 Comments

I'm finally getting around to doing a blog post on our "Special Time" we had last Friday night, June 5th.  That was the night we went to Charlotte, NC to see Jimmy Wayne, Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley.

The night started off kinda shaky but things finally settled down and we had a blast as always!  What was shaky about it?  Well for one thing, those of you that live in big cities and have to deal with fricken traffic every day, HOW DO YOU DO IT?  Misty's sister's boyfriend drove that night and I'm glad he did because it rained most of the way to Charlotte and traffic was ridiculous as usual.  Traffic is always bad in Charlotte, but toss in a concert or any other event and it's double ridiculous!

Anyway... we arrived safe and sound and ohhh yeah... I was very proud of myself!  No water, beer, soda or anything before we left or on the ride down to Charlotte!  Why not?  I learned a very valuable lesson the last time we got stuck in traffic and I had drank a couple of beers before we left (no i wasn't driving) and I thought I would piss my pants before we got to the parking lot.  NEVER AGAIN hahah  lesson learned!  My poor kidneys just can't hold it!  (Michele, did you learn YOUR lesson? haha)

Even though we were finally there, it was still raining and we had to park just about as far away from the Pavilion as you could get... sooo off we go, walking in the rain and mud, trying to get in before we missed half the concert.  We had already missed Jimmy Wayne (i had no clue who he was anyway) and Misty was fretful because she wanted to see Dierks Bentley come out and do his first song.  Well, since e/body had to take a leak, we missed the first song from Dierks but finally got to our seats (great seats btw) and from there on the night was a blast!  Actually the entire night was a blast, I just hated it for Philip having to drive in the rain and traffic!

So Misty got to see the guy she lusts after all the time hahah.. yeah she's in love with Dierks!   Oh well, what can I say?  He's good looking and he's a country music star... hard for me to compete with that! LOL

Now I'm not really a huge country music fan... I don't mind listening to it and of course Misty and I have some wonderful country songs that mean a lot to us.  I will have to admit though, when you go to a country music concert, at least the ones we've been to, they rock out and I've always had a great time at all of them!  Dierks Bentley jammed for a bit then Brad Paisley hit the stage and did his thing.. both were great and we had an awesome time!

Everyone in the crowd was really into the music and I enjoyed watching the people have a blast as much as I did the concert itself.  One couple sitting next to us was really having a great time and I hate I didn't even get their names, but we did take a pic that you'll see below and maybe if they drop by the blog they can say hello!

Ohhh and what the heck is the deal with having to pay $10.00 for a 24 oz beer?????  DAMN!

My next concert is SuperJam which is coming up on the 19th!  It's gonna be a blast and I'll be sure to do a post on it as well.

So check out the few pics below and be sure to share your thoughts or comments or whatever...

So have you seen Dierks Bentley or Brad Paisley or Jimmy Wayne in concert?

What's one of YOUR favorite concerts?

I’ve never been to a country concert, but if I went to one, it would either be one like that, or a faith and tim concert. Only right now if I heard all those sappy songs I’d be a blubbering mess!

    Jake,

It might be hard for you to compete with a good looking rock star for Misty’s attention, but obviously, you did so successfully.

No matter how impressed Misty was with his music, the fact is that she went home with you, not with Dierks and that tells me something about the man with whom her heart truly lies.
