There are quite a few beautiful places right around this area.. since we're in the foothills, we sit at the base of the Blue Ridge Mtns, so you can always get a nice view of the mountains, or ride up on the mountains and look over the flat lands below... I don't really know the particulars of what makes good wine country, but I definitely agree with you that every winery we've visited also has beautiful scenery! ha, I'm looking forward to the progress of our wedding plans also brother haha! @ Andrew – it is gorgeous for sure! It reminds me of an area just outside my hometown of Melbourne in Australia known as the Yarra Valley – a region which is famous for wineries and vineyards and, like the picture above, very beautiful scenery.

Is there something particular about wine growing areas? It almost seems to me as though almost any wine growing region (or at least the ones with which I am familiar) offer very beautiful scenery.
