DJ Jake? Vestax Typhoon in Da House!
Well... as of this past weekend I'm one step closer to at least partially living a dream. What's that dream? To be a DJ! That's right... 44 year old man tryin to be a DJ haha.
I may never be a full fledged DJ in a club, but you can bet I'll be having a blast in the Man Cave and hey, maybe some day down the road.. Jake may be DJ'ing parties or wedding receptions... who knows what the future holds! It's in my hands right?
I'm going to try and not say everything in the blog post that I've already said in the video, but I do want to make sure you know that I am NOT a DJ in any way shape or form! So keep that in mind. I've always loved music and I've always loved hip-hop! And like I said in the video.. silly or not.. hearing a sweet scratch routine gives me chill bumps! Guys like MixMaster Mike and DJ Q-bert definitely get my adrenaline going!
So anyway... after looking at different controllers for a while, I finally made a choice!
Vestax Typhoon Midi Controller
After looking real hard at Numark's IDJ2 last year but not wanting to pay 600 bucks for a controller, Numark comes out with the IDJ3 at $299, But after talking with some DJ's on YouTube and on different forums, I decided to take a hard look at the Vestax Typhoon. Vestax mixers are very popular, they have quality products and very good support from what I've read. Vestax had already put out the Vestax Spin which was the Mac only version, but since I'm a PC guy I didn't want to go that route and have to get another laptop. Since the Spin had great reviews, I decided to go with the Vestax Typhoon!
Time To Go Shopping For The Typhoon!
If you've followed this blog for any amount of time, you know I do most of my shopping online. After I decided on the Vestax Typhoon, I immediately started looking for the best deal online to make my purchase! After doing a few quick searches, I soon realized just about every online vendor had the same price for the Typhoon. Dealing with a quality vendor is just as important as buying a quality product at a great price! So after checking out the list of online vendors that carry the Vestax Typhoon, I came across a new site that I hadn't purchased from before, but one I will most definitely purchase from again!
ProAudioStar.com gets 5 out of 5 stars in every category for my shopping experience with them! Their website is easy to navigate and if you are in the market for ANY type of Pro Audio or DJ Equipment, then ProAudioStar.com IS the place for you to shop! As you will hear me say in the video as well, these folks were top notch! Speaking to them on the phone I realized they knew their products and stood behind them as well. To me, when shopping online, communication is huge! I received emails for my order within minutes and within a few hours I had my shipping confirmation and tracking number! Haha, can you tell I get excited about a positive online shopping experience?
Seriously... whether you check them out before or after you watch the video.. be sure to check out ProAudioStar.com The #1 Source for Pro Audio & DJ Equipment!

Jake,
Awesome review on the Typhoon!
We had a chance to check it out not too long ago and thought it was a pretty sweet digital djing tool, and I’m not even a DJ. I can totally relate to when you said you were in the dark when it comes to something like a digital dj controller.
Anyways, wanted to give a shout out and say great site!
