Just wanted to give a quick update here on the blog about my latest ventures in home brewing. In my last post, The New All Grain Brewing Equipment for Home Brewing, I showed you the new mash tun and keg converted to keggle. Since that video I've also purchased a new Bayou Classic SQ14 55,000 btu burner to use along with the keggle for all grain brewing.
In this first video I'm using the new burner with the converted keg to heat up my strike water so I can get a ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

SQ14 Burner and Installing a Weldless Ball Valve on The Keggle

Just an update on my move to making beer using the All Grain method. In my last post, Jake's First BIAB (Brew in a Bag), I talked a little bit about my move from extract kits, to the BIAB method or "Brew in a Bag". Actually BIAB is an All Grain brewing method, but I still want to go all out and move to a burner, keggle, mash tun etc etc. Is that equipment necessary or required to do All Grain? Nope, but I really have an interest in this ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

New All Grain Equipment for Home Brewing

What up folks! Just wanted to give an update on the home brewing and how it's going! If you look at the BEER CATEGORY here at the blog, you can see that I haven't really talked much about my progression when it comes to home brewing. Back in October of last year when Misty bought me a Mr Beer kit for my birthday, I never thought I would move away from the Mr Beer kits so quickly. I only did 2 batches using Mr Beer and I just wasn't impressed. ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

Jake’s First BIAB (Brew In A Bag)

It's pretty damn sad that I haven't written any post on my blog since April! I'm such a slacker! ha! Actually, there have been some good reasons and not so good reasons for me not blogging in such a long time...
The Not So Good Reasons:
Lazy! (when it comes to blogging)
Loss of interest!
For someone that has so much to say, and has an opinion about pretty much everything, and has so much going on in his life, you would think I would take time and share it with the world as ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

Death – Marriage – Honeymoon – Beer – Internet Marketing

What up folks... Finally getting some, or I guess I should say TAKING some time to write a blog post.. Sooo much going on in our world these days! Not just work but play as well... Other than the onslaught of pollen we've had, it has been absolutely GORGEOUS weather here in the NC foothills for a couple of weeks now!
Home Brewing is Going GREAT!
It's been just over 5 months since I started home brewing and I'll have to say it's one of the funnest hobbies I've been involved in. ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

Beer – Wedding Update – Stanky Leg

Ok folks, here's the latest video that shows the full size refrigerator converted to Jake's Kegerator! It was very easy to do and I'm glad I went with the full size fridge. Maybe sometime down the road, I can convert a mini-fridge or freezer (keezer).
The Phat Tyre extract kit has been fermenting for 2 weeks now and I'm gonna leave it in the primary for another week, then keg it! So that'll be my first kegging experience and hopefully the Phat Tyre will taste great!
I'll probably do a video on ...
Post from: My Life as I See It

Jake’s Kegerator Conversion is Complete! Now I Just Need BEER!
